Laura Llewellyn-Jones

Independent Actuarial Consultant National Pension Commission

Laura Llewellyn-Jones has been based in Africa for the last 5 years’ providing actuarial advice and support to African Governments. Previously she was working in pension consulting in the UK for pension trustee boards and international corporations. 

She is a qualified pension actuary by background with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in the UK, and whereas her main specialty is pensions, other actuarial work she has been involved in includes maternity, medical, occupational hazards, group life, income protection, critical illness and country wide saving schemes.

Laura acts as mentor for three actuarial trainees in Rwanda where she set up professional actuarial training for the first time.  She has been involved in pension policy, scheme design, risk management, training, governance, coverage, as well as more traditional actuarial reviews and data preparation.

More recently she has been providing actuarial support to the National Pension Commission in Abuja.
